Appearances can deceive

Can you ever remember a time where you were really struggling, but you pretended that everything was okay?

You put on a smile. You said, "Good!" in response to "How are you?" You pushed your pain down, down, and then further down still, so that it would look like everything was normal at work and in your life.

Consider this: there are a least a few people in your life who are doing this right now. They are silently struggling.

Because Old Happy culture prioritizes outer appearances over inner well-being, this experience is far too common. Beneath the surface, many are suffering, scared or unable to share what's really going on.

Take the time to check in on your friends. Tell someone how you are feeling. Ask for help. And prioritize your own well-being, however you can.
