Community: Reset
Each week, we gather our community’s wisdom. This week, we asked:
What do you do to reset?
"I've been challenged by anxiety my whole life, but the last 12 months I dedicated a lot of time and money to investigating what could help me. Aside from finding a good therapist, learning the power of breathwork has been instrumental in reminding me the power we have in us to transform anxious energy when it arises."
"Music, friends and family help me recenter. ALWAYS."
"I meditate every morning for about 10mins. I noticed that when I don’t do it, life’s heaviness starts taking a toll. If I’m still feeling, I try to do inspirational things like art, singing, or writing."
"Sleep!"
“Have a nap.”
“Self-care!”
“I try to speak to myself with the same gentleness I use with my nieces and nephew.”
“I write.”
“Go for a walk or lay with my dog.”
“Time with horses.”
“Reading psalms.”
“Daily nature walks.”
“Cleaning, organizing, meditating.”
“Deep breaths with one hand on chest and one hand on the ground.”
“Get outside into the sunshine and move my body.”
“I go swimming or ice skating. It helps me to separate myself from my negative emotions.”
“Fresh air, walking, hiking or just taking a moment to breathe.”
“Hug my kitties.”
“Breath work, nature walks, tea.”
“Silence helps me to recenter and reconnect with my deepest feelings and thoughts.”
“I ask myself, is this emotion I’m feeling mine or am I resonating with someone else’s?”
“Prayer”
“Conversations with close friends.”
“Move my body.”
“Remind myself of my values, identity, and why I do the things I want to do.”
“Take a long deep breath and think of my future self.”
“Yoga.”
“These days it’s been journaling or doing a craft.”
“Reading, being with family and friends, making real connections, nature contact.”
“Alone time, nature, journal.”
“Close my eyes and picture the place that brings me calm and joy and good memories.”
