Community: Lessons learned

Each week, we gather our community’s wisdom. This week, we asked:

What's a lesson you learned recently?

“Never force anything or anyone into your life. This lesson taught me the value of the people and things I have in my life and how it made sense as to why certain people, opportunities or situations never worked out as I was trying so hard to force them to work out.”

“No matter what happens just keep going.”

“I've learnt that it's important to be open to the idea of failing. No one's going to judge.”

“A lesson I’ve learned lately is:  Asking for help is not only OK, it is essential for growth, wellbeing, and overall peace. Accepting help can be hard, but we all deserve it!”

“Delaying response or reaction isn't insulting to the other party. It allows more time to step back and come up with a well-thought-out solution.”

“We may not like change but it must be embraced.”

“Grief is not only present with death, changes take place all the time.”

“Don’t blame someone for the way things in your life change.”

“You can hold multiple different feelings at the same time and they can all be valid.”

“When life is bad you will find your true friends, and never accept less from anyone.”

“Taking action is also progress.”

“I may think I know what’s coming next, but I don’t! And there’s surprise in that.”

“People’s opinions about me are just opinions… they are not my responsibility.”

“Slowly getting out of my comfort zone can unleash many possibilities and potential.”

“Holding onto hope is important.”

“There is always something to be grateful for.”

“Even though a lot of people have expectations for me, I still get to choose which I want to live up to.”

“Doing things you’re scared of is the best way to grow your confidence and it shows you what you’re capable of.”

“How to deal with a mistake… how to learn from it and move on, rather than dwelling on it.”
