Kindness is the secret
Here is something to remember today, which happens to be World Kindness Day:
When you're in pain, being unkind to yourself won't alleviate it. In fact,sstudies have found that when you are self-critical, you increase your stress.
What does help? Being to yourself. Be gentle, be generous, be loving, be patient, be compassionate, be forgiving. That's what you need when you're in pain.
The same is true for others, too. When other people are suffering, it's a sign that they need your kindness.
We have the power to create a world where everyone heals—and we do that by building a world where everyone is kind.
