What to do when you’re afraid

If you need to take a leap, remember all that you have done, think of how it will help you to grow, and then take that first brave step

Here's why you should try that thing you really want to do.

Studies
have found that we regret the things that we don't do the most. And if we try something and it doesn't work, we are remarkably good at adapting to the situation, learning from it, and turning it into a source of meaning.

Some of the happiest people I know are those who are not self-conscious about trying new things; some of the most frustrated people I know don't let themselves try the things they really want to do.

Try This
To help yourself make the leap, ask yourself these questions:

  • How long are you willing to wait to do the things you really want to do?

  • What's the best that can happen?

  • How might this help you to achieve your goals?

  • Who can you call on to cheer you on?
