How to find more purpose in life

If you’re looking for a greater sense of purpose in your life, one place to start is reflecting on your own experiences.

We have all been through our share of challenging experiences in life. One of the ways to find your New Happy is consider how you can use those experiences to help other people. In doing so, we can transfigure our experiences into healing, compassion and support for others.

Whether it’s helping others to get through a similar experience, preventing that event from occurring, or sharing what you’ve learned as a result of it, you can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. In turn, doing this increases your resilience, gives you a sense of purpose, and helps you take more control of your life’s narrative — all powerful sources of well-being.

If you’re currently navigating a challenging time, it’s even possible to do this before you get out of it. When we take a step back and look at our challenges with a broader perspective, asking ourselves how we can transform it into service in the future, it can make it easier to cope and persevere in the present moment. And as we all continue to navigate through our collective challenges right now, as well as our unique and personal ones, it can be interesting to ask yourself: what am I learning right now that I can use to help others?
