What to do when someone you love is upset

When someone is in tears, listen to their feelings, offer them loving words, most of all just be there

In this week’s community check-in, many of you asked, “How can I support a loved one/colleague/friend who is going through a hard time?” These three ways are probably among the most important — so simple in concept and yet often difficult to execute. What our loved ones need is usually our curiosity, our compassion, and a sense of connection. You have all of these.
