Weekly: Take your time

This week, we have a gift for you!

We just released a brand new set of wallpapers for your phone — for both light and dark mode.

They include some key New Happy messages that, in our Old Happy world, can be hard to remember. You can download them here. I hope you love them!

Have a great weekend,

This Week

What would happen if you stopped viewing life as a competition that needs to be won?

It would mean that you wouldn't have to rush. You wouldn't have to do everything, all by yourself, all of the time, all at once. You would be free to pause, enjoy yourself, and simply enjoy the act of living. You would be able to attend to your tasks and pursuits in a brand new way, enlivened by the pauses that you get between them.

The next time you feel this pressure to do everything all at once, use this mantra:

"I don't have to do it all right now. I can slow down and take my time."

More Tips and Tools

3. What you deserve — More than you think you do.

4. Everyone is feeling it — We're all going through something.

5. Life is always changing — Keep going.

What do you do for rest and rejuvenation?

“To recharge, I play a cozy video game (like Stardew Valley). It’s also important for me to find some quiet time. I like listening to audiobooks/podcasts while I do chores, but I’ve found on the weekends I need to turn it all off and carve out a bit of time with fewer screens, noises, and people. Maybe I meditate or work in the yard or take a nap or just let myself feel bored for a bit.”

“Since the pandemic hit and closed my local YMCA for 18 months, I was fortunate that the Y pivoted and went to virtual exercise class options. I actually have a better ‘relaxation’ and ‘workout’ (which for me is ‘rejuvenation’) now than I did pre-pandemic. I added two early morning virtual gentle yoga sessions (best addition ever!) and three mornings of Stretch/core body weight. Plus added walking – living in Maine, it’s such a gift to walk in the trails and neighbor hoods around my home!”

“My go-tos for rest and rejuvenation are solo time in nature, yin yoga and a hot bath with calming essential oils.”

“For rest and rejuvenation, I color in an adult coloring book and listen to lofi music! I love how calming the beats are.”

“I take it very seriously. I added to my daily routine facial massages, they are unbelievable. And as I don’t have many hours of sleep during the week I have siestas during the weekend.”
