How to face your fears

Trapped by fear, naming fear and facing fear.

Are you waiting for the fear to go away before you do the thing?

This is a common mistake we make with fear. The truth is that it doesn't go away. We simply figure out how to face it. To be brave, we have to acknowledge the very real presence of the fear, and then take action alongside of it. It can be terrifying, but you can do it.

Try This
Here's our three-part process for practicing courage:

· Face it: Give it a name; what, exactly, is the fear? Say it out loud or write it down.

· Remind yourself: When have you overcome scary things in the past?

· The smallest step: What's the smallest step you can take towards the fear? Now, take it.
