Weekly: Don’t hide away

When you deny who you are, you cut yourself off from your true self. And when you cut yourself off from your true self, you cut yourself off from others.

This week, I want you to remember who you really are. You are worthy. You are wonderful. You have so much to share with the world. We need you here. May you imbue this awareness in everything you do.

Have a great weekend,
Stephanie Harrison, founder of The New Happy

This Week

There are so many of us who are afraid to do what we really want to do. To be who we really are. To share the things that energize us — our gifts.

Here's another perspective that can help you to overcome this fear.

Your gifts are a responsibility.

You have been given them for a reason: there is someone (or a group of people, or a community, or the broader world) that needs them. If you do not use them, these people will be impoverished. Someone out there is waiting for you and your gifts to show up, because you have the power to make their world a little bit better.

It's often easier to be brave for other people. It's easier to stand up and say, "This is who I am and what I can share," when you know that it's going to benefit other people. Whenever you feel afraid, remember: you have a responsibility to use your gifts to serve the world, and when you fulfill it, it helps you and others to find happiness.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

"Quit my job."

"Move."

"Talk to people more."

"Go back to school."

"Stand up for myself and get better friends."

"Tell someone how I feel."

"I would quit my current job and try something new. I would get rest and then I would move to another country. I would also try to become a writer and a dancer."
